“Catching the Rays”

Walking at a boat launch and parking lot at Robeson Creek, Rita spotted a blue heron. She described how the heron sat so still as she went to get her camera and took his picture, capturing the sun as it hit him just right to pique Rita's imagination. In her painting, Rita changed the darker ever-present green colors so prevalent in North Carolina to create a softer pastel and a totally new scene to enjoy.
