Florence Johnson does such a wonderful job of portraying local scenes in a way that transports a simple, lowly subject into something grand. In this nostalgic painting, the woodshed really shines and seems to beckon one to tarry awhile, maybe to store some wild flowers for drying inside, or just to sit "a spell" in the early morning mist.
