Darling August,

Already the remarkable and breathless days of summer are here and I am convinced it has everything to be your never-to-be-forgotten summer.  It will come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world!  Evening skies will be full of lightning without a whisper of thunder, and even the stars will be singing their song to each other.

I feel so very sorry I haven't written more often, August, because your letters to me warm my alone heart.  I must close now, or I will be wirting on into the night and into September.  I've sent along our song . . . I'll think of you each time I sing it . . . when you read it if you happen to think fondly of me, well, I would like that . . .
