Anita Blalock "Double Strand Viking Knit Necklace" at the Joyful Jewel 2-3-15

Double Strand Viking Knit Necklace
Anita Blalock
Permanently Colored Copper Wire and Findings, Shell

Anita Blalock made an extra strand for this Viking Knit Necklace greatly adding time to it's production and an equally great addition to it's beauty.  Instead of knitting gems and beads into the chain as she often does, Anita attached a bezeled pink shell. There is a mystery to this ancient wire knitting art that Anita has mastered and folks are always asking how it is done. The Vikings used items of this knit for currency. What would you trade for a piece this elaborate?  Maybe a filet mignon.
