"Sunflowers"

16" x 26" original, framed to 23" x 33"

$450

Vangi loves all flowers and grows a variety in her yard in Pittsboro, NC.  I know that she grows sunflowers and also chrysanthemums.  Flowers are common in oriental painting.  She says, "All over the world chrysanthemums bloom in the fall.  Their spectacular gold, orange, and maroon colors defy the frost and the colder weather still to come.  Because of this chrysathemum symbolize righteousness in oriental painting.  On a cold winter day, it's good to remember . . .

Kate Ladd "Barrell of Sunflowers" at the Joyful Jewel 14-13

"Barrell of Sunflowers" Tray or Wall Hanging

Kate Ladd

19 1/2" x 19 1/2" Octagon Wood with Acrylic Painting

$56

Kate Ladd has painted these bright cheerful sunflowers right on a tray, a tray with handles.  Wouldn't this be a perfect delivery vehicle for a plate of scrambled eggs, sour dough toast and a slice of bacon -- oh, yes and even place a small vase with a single yellow flower on the tray?  I see breakfast in bed coming!  DG, can we buy this tray?

Vangi Cathcart "Sunflowers With Bee" at the Joyful Jewel 6-5-13

"Sunflowers with Bee"

Vangi Cathcart

Watercolor, 18" x 24", Original, Matted

$50

Vangi Cathcart, who loves to garden as well as paint, has captured the sunny disposition of Sunflowers in this Sumi-e style painting.  I love the addition of the bee flitting and ready to help pollinate each flower.  Flora and fauna under Vangi's brush delighting in each others company.                                ~ Mariah
