THE GUARDIAN was inspired by a piece of stained glass that I saw in a gallery in Arizona. I have traveled extensively in the American Southwest, and am very drawn to Native American art and symbolism. I set the image of the guardian in a natural landscape area so that it seems to be a sculpture (rather than made of glass), standing guard over the water in a desert terrain.
