Who out there doesn't love a fairy and a butterfly?  Linda Collura chose both subjects in this full-of-life small sculpture. Life would be so grand for her in a beautiful flower garden or patio display.   Here is what she says about her work: "I use low fire earthenware with underglazes, glazes and lusters layered to create textures and feeling of depth with various handbuilding techniques. It's fun to imagine the characters that emerge once I begin creating a tile, bowl, sculpture, or any kind of garden art. "

Amazed -- this sweet fairy entranced with the butterfly that has landed on her shoulder, and me looking at the engaging scene that Linda Collura has fashioned with her clay.  I know that pose, frozen in time, with awe at nature's bounty, pointing toward the Divine.  Quiet, still, fully focused, not wanting even the slightest of movement to interrupt the preciousness of the moment.
