Rita Baldwin "Sitting on the Edge" at the Joyful Jewel 8-21-15

"Sitting on the Edge"
Rita Baldwin
Oil Painting

Here kitty kitty.  Looking pensive yet alert, a beauty "Sitting on the Edge" in Rita Baldwin's painting, I think she would rather smell the flowers than come over to say hello.  There is a lesson in this.

Patrick Hitesman "Summer Vacation Imbibing" at the Joyful Jewel 8-15-15

Summer Vacation Imbibing
Patrick Hitesman
Painting

With his summer vacation about to be over, art teacher Patrick Hitesman, must already be missing the extra time for the pursuits pictured in these of his paintings!  Leisurely sipping on the sail boat, sharing grapes with his beloved, watching the antics of his children while sipping a beer - let's hope he will still make some time for these as school starts again!

Emma Skurnick "Rabbits" at the Joyful Jewel 4-16-14

Rabbits

Emma Skurnick

11 x 14" Print, Mixed Media Painting

$25

Not having reached my cute quota for the day, I am sharing another rabbit painting by Emma Skurnick.  How can one keep from soft eyed smiles and playful grin when experiencing this purely delightful painting!  What do you think, are they bringing branches for their nest or is this a prelude, a courtship overture?

Rita Baldwin "Barn in Winter" at the Joyful Jewel 2-23-14

'Barn in Winter"
Rita Baldwin
Oil painting, framed,original

I couldn't resist putting this on out today on this Spring day (about one week since it looked like this here in NC) of near 70 degrees.  This is a wonderful reminder of how charming and beautiful the snow on an old barn can be.  Of course it's more beautiful when you can just stay home and admire it, watching the changing light of the day like Rita Baldwin showed so richly in this painting.  I'd like to hold on to that soft peaceful, pristinely quiet feeling, carrying it forward into the boisterousness of Spring. Entering into this scene from the warmth of my sunlit deck does the trick.  Thank you Rita.
