We have lots of ornaments at the Joyful Jewel, and this one by Tamera Cooke is one of my favorites.  She has sculpted steel to make a dimensional multi-pointed star.  She painted the steel  with an especially beautiful blue swirl layered-looking paint, and sealed it to preserve the color and prevent rust or wear.  Then she mounted and hung the ornament from a curly-q length of sturdy copper wire.  This Star will withstand weather for outside, and it will shine beautifully all year round.

  Truly one of the most captivating art pieces at the Joyful Jewel, is this hangable ceramic sculpture by Carolyn Levy, with the unassuming title, "Wall Box."  The first thing I noticed was the egg recessed and surrounded by "seeds" adding to the symbology of new beginnings.  Then the honey bee, essential for the seeds hovers along with it's honeycomb source of nourishment.  If it were up to me, I'd title this piece "Nourishing New Beginnings."  What would you call it?

Kim Hawks has photographed this trio of Figs in a way that makes it look like the most beautiful sill life painting I have every seen!  The figs are sooooo juicy and would be delicious I am certain, but in this case I just want to enjoy their physical beauty.  Thank goodness they have been preserved in this photograph.  Wonderful.

Oh my goodness Kate Ladd!  This is an incredibly inviting Autumn scene.  Loving water lilies  as I do and seeing them at their home in this brilliant blue/purple water among the firey leaves, I can hardly stay inside.  I want to float on my back with the lilies, gazing at the blue unsettled sky and into the oranges and reds of Fall.  More vivid than a day dream, this painting deeply calls.
