This is one of the cds to I love to play at the Joyful Jewel. My favorite song on the album has a line, "When the working day is done, all I want to do is pray alone," brings me to that soulful place where I remember so well that I need to make time for solitude and prayer. Joe sets the atmosphere through the verses of the song so sweetly taking one from a hard day at work and other obligations yet to come, to the call he feels to take a meditation break just before heading home. This is the way to craft a beautiful song!
In October on Sunday the 7th, Joe Woodson will be playing and singing along with another wonderful local songwriter, Janet Place, at the Joyful Jewel. I hope he'll include this song. If you want to hear it too, come at 1pm that day and put in your own request! In the meantime, you can hear Joe this weekend at Centerfest in Durham. ~ Mariah Wheeler
