Rita visited a bog this summer in Illinois outside of Chicago. She abstracted this painting from a photograph using a new technique. She began by laying on transparent paint then layered opaque paints, wet-on-wet. Rita laughed describing the fun she had as the bush slid around on the canvas between the linseed oil and the paints.
